Please print out and display one of the linked posters ( A5 size or A4 size).On Saturday, November 30th we had a dynamic two part workshop on building inclusive online community engagement in neighbourhoods hosted by Steven Clift in the Kingston Upon Thames Guildhall.
We brainstormed strategies for the Norbiton community in Kingston upon Thames as they launch their new Neighbours Forum with E-Democracy. We had a lively discussion which continued into the Druid’s Head afterwards.

We are relaunching our petition to fix the gap at Norbiton Station. Please go to Fix the gap to sign the online petition at change.org. Each signature goes directly to South West Trains so if we get a million something may change! We held a protest at Norbiton station on Monday 18th February. Some photographs of the event are here. One result of our activities has been reported by a user of the station – the train announcements have been changed on some services warning travellers to not only mind the gap but also to take great care stepping down off the train!
A combined effort by OneNorbiton, CREST and CRERA resulted in the rejection of the planning application for the development of the Duke’s Tavern site. Residents marched from the Cambridge Estate to the Guildhall and representatives spoke at the planning meeting.There was a public meeting in Queen Mary’s Hall, Cambridge Gardens on Tuesday 28th May to discuss the Planning Application for the Duke’s Tavern Site. After a presentation by the proposers of the application a lively discussion took place, with around 50 attendees all rejecting the plans for a student residence in the area. Unfortunately the Council Planning & Development Committee have accepted a revised bid to build student accommodation for almost 300 students on the site.
